Inside ex-Hull FC star Josh Reynolds’ NRL contract as halfback takes big paycut

Josh Reynolds is back with the club of his dreams.
After spells with the Wests Tigers and Hull FC in Super League, the halfback is back where he started his career: the Canterbury Bulldogs.
It was a dream for the former Hull FC number six to return to the club and he even said that he would play for free just to be a Bulldog again.
Now, the ins and outs of his train and trial deal at the club have been revealed however.
According to the Daily Telegraph, Reynolds will be earning $1000 a week as he looks to battle his way into the Bulldogs’ top 30.
This is a massive drop off from what he is used to receiving. During his time at the Wests Tigers he received over 16 times this amount as he brought in $16,500 per week.
That said, based off Reynolds’ recent comments, the former Hull FC man is simply glad to be back at the club where he made his name at originally and where he calls home.
It has been difficult for him since he left the Bulldogs as he battled for a place in the Wests Tigers team prior to a move to Super League.
His time at Hull FC started well but injuries would ultimately derail it leading to an early release mid-way through 2022 as the club brought in Will Smith until the end of the season.
Smith’s future has been confirmed today with a move to Wests Tigers for 2023.
