Injury concerns for both Warrington and Leeds

It has been a whirlwind star from the Warrington Wolves at the Halliwell Jones stadium as they have blown Leeds Rhinos away.

Things got off to an ideal start when a short kick off, the hall mark of Leeds’ pre-season, saw the Rhinos regain possession from the very first kick off but an Aidan Sezer kick was fielded in goal and beckoned pressure which didn’t yield points when Peter Mata’utia missed a bouncing George Williams ball.

The very next set though the Wolves crossed through Matt Dufty. Another try followed from Daryl Clark as he exploited an injury to Aidan Sezer though the halfback stayed on the field after getting a knock.

The Wolves crossed again when a great off the cuff play saw Josh Thewlis cross in the corner.

However, there was a cloud or two over the Wolves’ brilliant start.

Matty Nicholson was forced off looking in severe pain after a tackle on Derrell Olpherts.

He has a dislocated shoulder but they have been able to get it back in.

He won’t return to the field however.

Meanwhile, Sam Lisone went off from Leeds nursing a knee injury.

The trio of concerns came when Josh Thewlis was hit around the head by Kruise Leeming.

He avoided a card because Thewlis was slipping.

That didn’t stop the tide of tries from the Wolves with Danny Walker scoring.
