One injured Leeds Rhinos star has set out his intended return date and named his goals for the 2025 season.
Full-back Lachie Miller suffered a serious hamstring injury whilst training back home in Australia with that injury ruling him out for the initial stages of the pre-season.
Speaking to BBC Radio Leeds, Miller confirmed that it “came off” when training Down Under but the positive news is that he expects to be back for Round One of Super League when Leeds face off against Wakefield Trinity.
That fixture will be played on February 15th and Miller confirmed: “I’ll definitely be in contention but team-wise we’ve got a fair bit of competition there with Jake (Connor) and young Alfie (Edgell) as well but I’m in contention.
“I’m confident I’ll be right to play in Round One.”
Despite his confidence in being fit for Round One, he will not be ready for the team’s friendly against Wigan Warriors which will serve as Ash Handley’s testimonial – something that Miller described as a “shame”.

The news of his injury whilst back home was a major blow for Leeds Rhinos who are looking to avoid a third consecutive season outside of the play-offs.
Speaking to how his injury happened, Miller explained: “I was back home in Australia and was literally just trying to keep fit.
“I went for a jog and was just doing a little bit of a sprint and it came off. It’s just one of those things but it is maybe better that it happened than rather than now.”
The incident, which happened back in November, ruled Miller out of Leeds Rhinos’ traditional Boxing Day clash with Wakefield, however, the full-back confirmed that it was a result of a previously lingering injury.
“I did a good number on it but the rehab has been really good. The medical staff have been really good and I’m feeling fitter and stronger than before.
“I did it against Hull in the third last game or something and then it healed and when I went home I did it worse. It’s good now.
After playing 26 times in his debut season with the club Miller is simply looking for consistency, particularly in how he works alongside the club’s other spine players.
Asked about his goals for 2025, he explained: “Personally, I just want to stay on the pitch and really get my game to a point where I’m helping out my teammates and then also build on the spine combination that we really started to build last year.”

I really do feel sorry for Salford. The side have been having problems for a few years now. Having to sell your best players and looking for bargains isn’t going to help.
With all this now makes me wonder whyIan Blease left the club? What the club doesn’t need is other clubs looking to cherry pick the squad.
