Incident that ruled out star man and was questioned by coach goes unpunished by disciplinary panel

Hull KR’s winning streak came to an end against league leaders Warrington Wolves.

They produced a valiant effort despite the absence of plenty of key players like Jordan Abdull, Lachlan Coote and Rowan Milnes which led to a makeshift spine.

So the fact they led 12-0 was impressive and they might have won if they had not lost Matt Parcell.

After the game, coach Willie Peters raised the incident that ended Parcell’s night.

“I haven’t seen it,” he admitted on BBC Radio Humberside, “But I’m not sure how you can go down concussed if nothing happens.”

He admitted that he couldn’t properly comment on the moment but hinted that an elbow could have been used.

“I can’t really comment on it but it was at a crucial point. I need to have a good look at it but if it was deserving of a penalty then that’s a big moment,” Peters said.

“Something has happened but I don’t know what. I can’t say it was an elbow.”

Though he said referee Ben Thaler didn’t ruin the game: “I wouldn’t say he ruined the game.”

Interestingly the incident has gone unpunished as well by the Match Review Panel with no Warrington Wolves players punished this week.
