Ince joins Leigh following Widnes release

Leigh have signed prolific winger Ryan Ince for the 2020 season.

The 23-year-old scored 19 tries in 22 games for Widnes last season and becomes the Centrurions’ fourth new signing today along with Danny Addy, Ben Hellewell and Nathan Mason.

Ince was released by the Vikings at the end of August after four years with the club where he average two tries every three games.

“I am looking forward to starting a new challenge in a new environment,” Ince told leighrl.co.uk. “It’s a fresh start for me and I’m really excited.

“The Betfred Championship is a tough competition and the standard is improving every year. I’m hoping to play as many games as possible and stay injury free.”

Leigh head coach John Duffy added: “Signing Ryan is a massive coup for us. He is a Super League quality winger and the kind of personnel we want at this club as we look for a big season.

“Ryan brings the ball back brilliantly and gets his team on the front foot as well as being able to finish. He reads the game so well, especially in defence and he will be great to have around and I’m looking forward to working with him.”

Within the last two hours, the club have also announced that Ben Reynolds, Junior Sa’u, Adam Higson and Brad Holroyd will remain with the club next season.
