Important update on investigation into incident between Leeds Rhinos star and Victor Radley

Shortly after England’s heartbreaking defeat to Samoa in the Rugby League World Cup semi-finals, there was an alleged incident between one of their star players and a star of Super League.

Former St Helens star and current Leeds Rhinos player James Bentley missed out on England selection despite a superb end to last season as he scored a brace to guide the Rhinos to an unlikely Grand Final.

He went on to represent Ireland once again and when they were knocked out at the group stage of the tournament, he went to Ibiza on holiday.

Days after returning to England, reports of this incident began to circulate.

It involved England star Victor Radley. The NRL player with the Sydney Roosters was one of England’s best players in the tournament and was nominated for the prestigious Golden Boot award.

However, he was a controversial pick in the eyes of some with former Leeds player Gary Schofield slamming the decision to pick him as he was not born in England.

Radley and Bentley were both being talked about for very different reasons however after England’s exit from the tournament.

This was because they were said to be involved in a fight.

The NRL integrity unit were keen on getting to the bottom of this and deciding whether or not Radley needed punishment.

But according to the Daily Mail, there are set to drop this investigation having failed to get to the bottom of it.

It bodes well for Bentley too who is reportedly keen on making the move to the NRL in 2024.
