Important Hull FC fixture moved due to safety precautions

Hull FC can confirm a change of kick-off time for their upcoming away fixture against Toulouse Olympique.

The Black & Whites travel to take on the French side for the first time away from home on Friday 29th July at the Stade Ernest Wallon.

Supporters are advised that the Betfred Super League Round 21 fixture will now kick-off at 7.00pm local time (6.00pm UK time), instead of 8.00pm local time as originally scheduled.

When the Super League fixture list was announced ahead of the 2022 season, there is always some give or take with potential movement of dates.

With dates usually moved around for television purposes such as Sky Sports and Channel 4, people have come accustomed to changing fixtures.

However, it is unusual that not one, but two fixtures have been moved due to a ‘safety precaution’ because of a heatwave.

Not only will Hull have to go through this, but that’s exactly what the Leeds Rhinos had to go through on Saturday as they took on Toulouse Olympique in the south of France, with the West Yorkshire club previously tweeting: “Leeds Rhinos fixture at Toulouse Olympique this Saturday, 16th July, will now kick off at 8pm local time, 7pm in the UK, as a safety pre-caution due to the current heat wave in France and the high temperatures forecast for the original kick off time.”

It also wouldn’t be surprising if more fixtures are altered down the line if such weather continues as Europe faces a bleak number of weeks.
