With the IMG gradings set to be announced to the public on Wednesday, there’s very little time left where we have the uncertainty that has shrouded a number of Super League sides this year.
Of the five pillars that make up the IMG scoring, only Performance can be entirely calculated independently, something that we have done as we ranked all 35 professional clubs. We also know an element of the Fandom pillar with a club’s home attendance making up 2.5 points of that specific pillar.
IMG grading takes into account every home attendance from regular season games in the clubs’ respective leagues – and we’ve worked out where each of the 2024 Super League teams will rank in terms of how many points they’ll get, with most data collated from Rugby League Project.
Everything you need to know about the IMG grades ahead of Wednesday update
It is worth noting that IMG only collate the data from the Ground Safety Match Officer Report so there could be minor discrepancies. Scoring is as follows.
Attendances of 7,501 or more earn 2.5 points, 3,001 or more earns 2, 1,501 earns 1.5 and any figure of 1,500 or below is worth 0.75 points.
For example, Championship winners Wakefield Trinity, who are likely to be in Super League next year, had an average of 4,734, meaning they’d be in the 2.0 points bracket.
Where every current Super League club scores on IMG attendances
London Broncos – 1.5

London Broncos have the lowest average attendance of all 2024 Super League clubs.
Their Championship seasons having an average of just over 1,000 means even their 3,178 average in 2024 doesn’t get them to the 3,000 threshold for 2.0 points, but the three-year average of 1,792 does get them 1.5 points for attendance.
Salford Red Devils – 2.0
The Red Devils’ attendances have, on average, consistently been over 4,500 but they decreased in 2024 after over 5,200 in 2023.
Their good performances don’t seem to help the attendance increase, and they’re nowhere near getting maximum points.
Huddersfield Giants – 2.0

Despite having one of the largest stadiums in Super League, the Giants are also down in the 4,000s, with a very similar drop in crowds to what has been seen at Salford.
4,975 sees them achieve 2 points for attendance.
Leigh Leopards – 2.0
Despite two excellent seasons of attendance under their new guise, the 2022 season, spent in the RFL Championship, brings them down below the threshold for maximum points.
Just over 3,000 on average made their way into Leigh Sports Village that year, and despite 8,391 being the average in 2024, as they achieved a play-off place, their average ended up being just above 6,000 over the past three years – meaning they’re in the same bracket as sides that achieved almost as low as half their 2024 average attendance this year.
Castleford Tigers – 2.5
The Tigers are the only club out of all these mentioned that are anywhere near the cut-off between grades.
The maximum of 2.5 points is awarded for average home crowds of 7,501+, and the Tigers currently sit on around 7,550, with 7,940 in 2024 – the highest of the past three years – managing to get them over the threshold… just.
Catalans Dragons – 2.5
The Dragons are comfortably over 7,500, with averages over 9,000 in 2023 and 2024 bringing their overall average to 8,785.
At times, they’ve made it to over 10,000, and if performances get back to their best, this could improve further.
Hull KR – 2.5

After a huge increase in 2024, KR are also comfortable.
7,788 in 2022 has leapt to 9,883, using available data from supporters’ minutes, and their overall average of 8,814 is another that will surely only improve, with the temporary expansion of Craven Park likely to be made more permanent at some point.
Warrington Wolves – 2.5
The Halliwell Jones Stadium has seen averages of over 10,000 in 2023 and 2024, bringing the rolling average to 9,893 from the past three years.
Hull FC – 2.5
Another side with maximum points, the Black and Whites saw attendance figures fall this year but still sat at almost 11,000, meaning despite some terrible on-the-field performance, their performance in the stands keeps them at maximum attendance points.
St Helens – 2.5
Into the top three now for attendance, and Saints attendance figures have actually increased year-on-year over the past three, despite 2022 being the most successful on the field.
Wigan Warriors – 2.5
Never found too far apart from their bitter rivals, Wigan Warriors sit at 1,000 more than Saints, also after seeing average attendances increase year on year – with 2024 at 2,600 more than in 2022.
Leeds Rhinos – 2.5

Top of the ranking, with a rolling average of 13,594, are Leeds Rhinos, whose attendance numbers yet another that have increased every year over the past three.
