Yesterday, Leeds’ play-off hopes took a massive hit as the Rhinos lost to West Yorkshire rivals Wakefield. Trinity came up with one of their best performances of the season to down the Rhinos and keep up their good form. That was my view, but what was yours? How did social media react to Leeds’ loss?
Many believed, even Rhinos fans, that the performance indicated that Willie Poching is bringing the best out of Trinity.
Wakefield had the fight and that’s something that they need to look at when giving the job. Poching deserves a chance to manage at the highest level, I hope he gets it.

What a win for the Trin.
Couldn't be happier for Willie Poching a truly great guy and has worked his backside off. Give him the gig full time Mr Carter. He won't let you down. https://t.co/cDUoy7ImKB— Louise Woodward-Styles (@MrsLouiseWS) August 30, 2021
That said, plenty of other Leeds fans simply wanted to diagnose the defeat and subsequently turned to the officiating.
Certain calls would go in Wakey favour
If you deny that that says a lot https://t.co/PdO5wAjGuQ

Unsurprisingly, others were less concerned with the reasons behind the defeat and were more fixed upon the damage the defeat could do to their season.
That is such a brutal loss.

Just back from Wakefield after a very disappointing display and result. We looked flat from the off and were out enthused by a team on a high.
Big blow in the race for the top 6. But with our attack looking so scrappy, I'm not sure we'd do much damage in the play-offs anyway.

Appalling today. No composure and no fight at all. Disappointing. We go again next week with more players missing.

Leeds have other worries apart from the result itself. With Zane Tetevano already facing a ban, Matt Prior could yet join him whilst Callum McLelland appeared to suffer a season-ending injury joining the likes of Luke Gale, Mikolaj Oledzki and Konrad Hurrell in the Rhinos’ treatment room.
No Prior, Tetevano or Oledzki doesn’t fill me with any confidence.

On the other side of the fence, Wakefield fans were very pleased with the performance praising the commitment of Trinity as well as their defence.
Quality!

Even Leeds fans were praising Wakefield players. Some even wanted the Rhinos to poach one of Trinity’s star players.
We need to go to wakey and steal Kelepi Tanginoa like we did with Gaz Ellis 🦏
