‘If I’m being brutally honest both of them didn’t play great last week’ – Lee Radford calls on Castleford Tigers players to improve

Castleford Tigers have been in a bit of a pickle recently.

After a dreadful start when they won just one game in six, the Tigers put together a decent run of four wins in six fixtures.

However, since then, a mid-season slump has occurred, epitomised by the dreadful 32-12 result at home to Wigan Warriors last weekend.

And, Tigers head coach Lee Radford has called on his players – and himself – to improve going forward.

“We need to train harder than we are and train better than we are and hopefully we will see the results on the field,” Radford told BBC Radio Leeds.

“There are some individual performances that haven’t been where they needed to be in recent weeks and the players and I need to look at what we are doing and do it better.

“I will be making on a decision on X and Y and if I’m being brutally honest both of them didn’t play great last week and it’s not the sort of position you want to be in.

“The rest are getting a spot because they are available and one of those is going to drop out because they were worse than the other.

“We need that to change sooner rather than later.”

Castleford travel to Toulouse Olympique on Sunday.
