Ian Watson makes Will Pryce decision as Salford Red Devils wait to reveal team

We’re set for an exciting play-off clash today live on both Sky Sports and Channel 4.

Third place Huddersfield host sixth place Salford as Ian Watson strives to stop a repeat of the fairytale they penned with Salford in 2019 as he looks to repeat the feat with Huddersfield this season.

It is very much a clash of style as the systematic and physical Giants will look to dominate the game and lead the way whilst Salford will look to stretch the play, attack with enthusiasm and create openings as they did recently at the AJ Bell Stadium when they surprisingly put plenty of points passed the usually defensive resurgent Huddersfield Giants.

The teams are now in and there’s some interesting movesIa from Ian Watson. The backs are as you’d expect with Leroy Cudjoe on the wing with Toby King at centre and Ash Golding left out.

As previously forecast, Olly Russell and Theo Fages start in the halves with Will Pryce named as an impact sub.

There is no Olly Wilson with Owen Trout instead starting at prop alongside Chris Hill. Seb Ikahihifo starts on the bench despite recent injury struggles and is joined by Matty English and Joe Greenwood amongst the subs.

Remarkably Salford left it until after 12 o’clock to release their team meaning that their side was still in question with less than an hour to kick-off.

It’s now in, and it’s as you’d expect from Paul Rowley with Joe Burgess back on the wing and Salford’s now first choice backline selected.

Tyler Dupree and Shane Wright move to prop after Jack Ormondroyd and King Vuniyayawa started there against Castleford.

This sees Alex Gerrard start at 13 with King Vuniyayawa and Jack Ormondroyd on the bench.

Kallum Watkins keeps his second-row spot after a terrific season.
