Leeds Rhinos are pushing ahead with recruitment but fans shouldn’t expect news imminently. That’s the message from Rhinos sporting director Ian Blease, who has given an update on the club’s pursuit of new faces for the 2025 Super League season.
Arthur has spoken at length about his desire to add to his squad over the off-season, with the head coach looking to add an outside back and a middle to his ranks. So far Ryan Hall has been the Rhinos’ only recruit for next season with the Hull KR man set to return to the club where he started his career.
However, with Rhyse Martin and David Fusitu’a set to leave the club at the end of the 2024 campaign, the club will have two overseas quota spots to fill and it seems they are looking at their options Down Under. It’s well known the Rhinos made a move to sign Jordan Rapana from Canberra Raiders only to miss out to Hull FC, which undoubtedly came as a blow.
The club are looking ahead in their bid to add to their squad, though, and while they may not be in a position to make an announcement soon, there is optimism at Headingley.
“We are still working on things,” Blease, who joined Leeds Rhinos in June, said per the Yorkshire Evening Post.
“More options have come to the table and we’re waiting on a few bits and pieces. It’ll take a while longer, dealing with the visa process and things like that.”
“More people are contacting us, agents overseas and over here, which is good. It shows we are getting the club into people’s eyeline.”
The club have announced that Kieran Hudson, Luis Roberts, James Donaldson and Corey Johnson will also be leaving the club at the end of the season.
