“I know what he’s like” – Russell Crowe could attend Super League clash this weekend

Russell Crowe could be watching Super League this weekend

Reports suggest that Hollywood star Russell Crowe could watch Warrington Wolves play in Super League this week.

The Wolves host Huddersfield Giants on Friday night, as they look to get back on track in Super League.

A narrow win last time out against Hull FC snapped a three-game losing streak, including in the Challenge Cup final, but it was a game full of controversy, and one that required a late display of Matt Dufty excellence to get them over the line against one of the league’s biggest strugglers.

Currently just two points behind St Helens in second place, a win here could be huge – it could show that they still have the credentials to push for the League Leaders’ Shield.

Now, they could be set to have one of Hollywood’s biggest names in attendance to give them an extra boost.

Russell Crowe is in Warrington tomorrow night, as he’s doing a musical performance at Parr Hall as part of his ‘Indoor Garden Party’ tour.

As co-owner of South Sydney Rabbitohs, he signed Warrington head coach Sam Burgess as a young talent, meaning the two have a long-time connection, and Burgess will be in attendance at his performance.

Therefore, it was thought the plan was for him to attend the clash at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

However, Sam Burgess has cast some doubt over this.

Via The Warrington Guardian, he said: “I don’t know if he’s coming to the game – he tells me he’s got a flight to Paris the next day.

“He might be there – I know what he’s like so he’ll find a way to get it done.

“We’re catching up for a bit of dinner this week then I’ll be going watching his band at Parr Hall.”
