Wigan Warriors were cruising against Leeds Rhinos last night.
The Warriors led 14-0 till a Harry Newman intercept gave Leeds some hope but that hope looked remote when Zane Tetevano was sent off.
In the second half though Leeds blew Wigan away scoring six tries to claim a 40-18 win.
It is safe to say Wigan fans are furious with the defeat.
One fan was quick to call on the club to make some drastic decisions in terms of signings and retention despite the success this team has achieved over the last 18 months.
Questions will be asked, and there was lots of empty seats…. Kris with a headache for next years retention and signings

Ultimately though it was the team performance that had fans labelling it “a disgrace.”
An absolute disgrace that tonight. Awful 😔

Embarrassing tbh

One fan felt like they’d been “mugged.”
I feel like I’ve been mugged. If it’s that easy to figure us out, then forget silverware this year. I just don’t understand how we can be so inconsistent. Still, just a bad day at the office, we go again next week.

This Wigan fan pointed the finger, as did Phil Clarke on Sky Sports, at Wigan’s “abysmal” attack in the opposition 20.

Other supporters blamed those higher up the club over recruitment and questioned where the money for the John Bateman sale went:
Got to wonder about and blame recruitment as well which comes back to Lenegan and radz. It’s been below par for a few years now. Can’t keep cutting the budget and expect not to suffer. Where’s the Bateman money gone?

Other fans pointed to the reshuffle Wigan did mid game with Cade Cust coming on and Joe Shorrocks moving out of the halves where he has impressed lately.
Complete collapse when he brought Cust on & decided to change the entire team to fit him in. Stop changing what’s working — Shorrocks ran the show in the first half & got moved out of the halves because of it.

This fan claimed that the entire 17 should be dropped ahead of the cup tie against the same opposition next week.
Wouldn’t even pay a single player who played tonight after that second half display. Absolute disgraceful performance.

However, there were some who cautioned against kneejerk reactions:
Same people crying tonight was up there ass against saints and wire. Its may shit happens see what happens with marshall field back come later in year

Remarkably some fans labelled Leeds a “poor side” emphasising their own disappointment.
Leeds are a poor side. To allow them to 40 points is abysmal. Big wake up call. https://t.co/vnpWJt2t0i

The word embarrassing kept cropping up as did calls to drop the entire team.
Absolutely fucking embarrassing. Shocking in defence and attack and no effort at all. Drop every single of them https://t.co/JsgFl2BTah

One fan claimed it was one of the worst defeats in years.
One of the worst defeats in years that. Peet looks clueless. Squad gave up badly tonight. Remarkable after such a dominant first half were we as usual didn't score enough points https://t.co/UdkASLe43b

And once again the word embarrassed, a word used by coach Matt Peet, again popped up.
