“I feel like I’ve been mugged” – Wigan Warriors fans take to social media to vent their frustrations

Wigan Warriors were cruising against Leeds Rhinos last night.

The Warriors led 14-0 till a Harry Newman intercept gave Leeds some hope but that hope looked remote when Zane Tetevano was sent off.

In the second half though Leeds blew Wigan away scoring six tries to claim a 40-18 win.

It is safe to say Wigan fans are furious with the defeat.

One fan was quick to call on the club to make some drastic decisions in terms of signings and retention despite the success this team has achieved over the last 18 months.

Ultimately though it was the team performance that had fans labelling it “a disgrace.”

One fan felt like they’d been “mugged.”

This Wigan fan pointed the finger, as did Phil Clarke on Sky Sports, at Wigan’s “abysmal” attack in the opposition 20.

Other supporters blamed those higher up the club over recruitment and questioned where the money for the John Bateman sale went:

Other fans pointed to the reshuffle Wigan did mid game with Cade Cust coming on and Joe Shorrocks moving out of the halves where he has impressed lately.

This fan claimed that the entire 17 should be dropped ahead of the cup tie against the same opposition next week.

Remarkably some fans labelled Leeds a “poor side” emphasising their own disappointment.

The word embarrassing kept cropping up as did calls to drop the entire team.

One fan claimed it was one of the worst defeats in years.

And once again the word embarrassed, a word used by coach Matt Peet, again popped up.
