‘I don’t want to be playing at Fev’ – Leeds Rhinos star determined to nail down first-team spot following Featherstone partnership

After yesterday’s announcement that Leeds Rhinos would be renewing their partnership with Featherstone Rovers in terms of dual-registration, one Rhinos man has reiterated his desire to nail down a first-team spot.

Jack Broadbent has become one of the most talked about starlets in Super League after enjoying a stellar year for the Rhinos in 2021.

But, the utility man – who can play anywhere along the backline – wants to play first-team for Leeds rather than go on dual-registration with Featherstone.

“I don’t want to be playing at Fev, I want to be playing at Leeds every weekend,” Broadbent told Rhinos TV.

“And, I’m going to do my best to try and do that but we’ve got some really strong players on the edges here and I’m going to just keep as pushing as hard as I can to get into this Leeds team.

“If not then I’m going to go to Fev and get the game time – it’s a great partnership, playing in the Championship really benefits players.

“I’ve been at Fev and Batley and I’ve just go to do my best wherever I’m playing.”

For Broadbent, the likes of David Fusitu’a, Tom Briscoe and Ash Handley will be fighting for the spots along the backline, but don’t rule the 20-year-old out just yet.
