Hull star rewarded with two-year deal

Hull FC again appear on the up in 2021 after a couple of disappointing campaigns. At the heart of their success is the renewed form of some of their key players and star signings.

One of their very best performers this term has been Adam Swift. After a slow start to life with the Black and Whites in 2020, he’s been given the chance to shine by new Head Coach Brett Hodgson.

He’s settled on the left wing for Hull and has been one of the best wingers of 2021. With nine tries he sits fourth in the rankings just three behind leading scorer Ryan Hall.

Not only has he been brilliant on the wing, he also showed great versatility to star at fullback against Wigan in the Challenge Cup. All told, he’s been one of Hull’s best players this term.

He’s subsequently been rewarded with a new two-year deal which keeps him at Hull until the end of 2023. Excited by the prospect he told the Hull FC website: “I’m loving my time here at the club, and I’m playing some of my best rugby in 2021, so the decision to extend my contract was an absolute no-brainer for me.

“2020 was a tough first season for me with my various injuries, but this year has been like a fresh start and I’ve found a new lease of life out on the field, and I feel my performances have reflected that.

“We’ve got a great bunch of lads here and a new coach who is implementing some really great ideas, and I think we’ve started laying the foundations for something special – it’s a team I undoubtedly want to continue to be a part of.”

Head Coach Hodgson is equally excited by the new contract and is incredibly pleased with Swift’s performances this season: “I’m really happy with Adam’s form this season. He has applied himself extremely well and is getting the rewards through his performances.

“He had the ability to play a number of positions which we saw against Wigan in the Challenge Cup, which benefits both himself and us as a team.

“I’m looking forward to seeing Swifty continue his form and get the success he deserves.”
