Hull KR’s Lachlan Coote ‘could exit the club’ according to Australian journalist

Lachlan Coote has been one of the best overseas signings in recent Super League history.

After being tasked with the responsibility of taking over from the outgoing Ben Barba ahead of the 2019 Super League season, Coote won three Grand Finals and one Challenge Cup at St Helens in an incredible three-year spell.

With the development of Jack Welsby at the back, Coote left the Totally Wicked Stadium for Craven Park ahead of the 2022 season.

Unfortunately, injury has hit the fullback whilst at Hull KR which has limited his game time, though Coote’s impact runs a lot deeper.

A mentor to the likes of Will Dagger and Phoenix Laulu-Togaga’e at the back, Coote has become an important cog in Rovers’ machine in 2022, however, zerotackle – an Australian news site – has claimed that he ‘could exit the club’.

It’s the first time that such an exit has been mooted with uncertainty surrounding where the news has come from with zerotackle the first to claim this.

Meanwhile, Hull KR are said to be chasing Parramatta Eels centre Tom Opacic, with The Mole at the Wide World of Sports reporting that a number of Super League sides are in for the former North Queensland Cowboys star, with the Robins one of those in the driving seat.

Hull KR have been approached for comment regarding Coote.
