Hull KR have confirmed that Elliot Minchella will join dual-registration partner Dewsbury Rams for the West Yorkshire club’s clash against Sheffield Eagles this weekend.

The Robins’ vice-captain is nearing his first-team return for the Red and Whites after sustaining an ACL injury against St. Helens last April and has been working hard to regain fitness in time for the 2022 Betfred Super League Season.

After months of rehabilitation and preparation, the dynamic second-rower is ready for his first run out of 2022 for the Rams.

Head Coach, Tony Smith noted: “We’re delighted that Elliot’s gonna kick off our dual-registration with Dewsbury Rams after having some discussions with both Dewsbury and Elliot.

“Before he gets a chance to show his wares in Super League, it’s probably the best way for him to get out there and get some match fitness and also help bolster Dewsbury’s team for this week.

“It’s just part of the relationship that we’re kicking off. It’s great to have this sort of situation, albeit we don’t have a reserve grade game this week, it’s another great avenue for Elliot to get a game under his belt before he resumes playing with the first team.”
