Hull KR youngster praises squad as they help prepare him for big future

Hull KR added a surprise name to their squad for their warm weather camp when they brought along young halfback Jack Potter, speaking on the club’s Twitter, he opened up on how much he enjoyed it and what he learnt.

“I really enjoyed every minute of it, it was a good challenge and I’m looking forward to the next step,” Potter said.

“They have all been really good with me and helping me out in my role, with my small talk. I feel I could ask them anything.”

For Potter, the last few years have flown by as he now features part of the first team squad:

“I feel it has flown by, I think with the pandemic, it feels like I was playing amateur two minutes ago, I have loved every minute of it.

“I just want to learn what I can from the senior boys and mature my game and preparation.”

The Robins already have young halfbacks in Mikey Lewis and Rowan Milnes.

They also have  a star scrum-half in the shape of Jordan Abdull all of whom Potter can learn from.

However, he may be called upon at some point in 2023 based on how the Robins struggled with injuries in key roles in 2022.

Lewis is back after surgery in pre-season training.

They will be hoping to have Abdull for most of 2023 after he missed the majority of 2022.
