Hull KR without two stars to face strong Warrington Wolves

It’s a top of the table clash on Friday as first placed Warrington host third placed Hull KR, with the winner set to either extend their league lead or claim the league lead.

That’s a testament to the work that Willie Peters has done at Craven Park this year that should the Robins win by a wide enough margin, and Wigan fail to beat Leeds, then they will top the table and continue their best ever start to Super League.

Whilst all those factors are unlikely they will head into this game believing they can beat anyone and Peters has dismissed the idea of looking at the league table currently.

Two players who have been confirmed that will miss out in their efforts to avenge their round four defeat to the Wolves are Lachlan Coote and Jordan Abdull, meaning the Robins will have a disrupted spine for the second week in a row.

Coote has been confirmed out for a month whilst Abdull will miss five to six weeks meaning that he’ll lose pace in the Man of Steel competition, which is being led by the Wire’s talisman George Williams.

Williams has been superb this season and is one of the main-stays in their spine, particularly after full-back Matt Dufty got dropped last week.

In the absence of Lachlan Coote it could be Ethan Ryan who plays at full-back whilst Mikey Lewis may well be joined by either Rowan Milnes or Jez Litten in the halves.

Litten paired with Milnes in the halves after Coote went down last week with Lewis shifting to full-back but Ryan was talked about positively by Peters who suggested either he or Lewis will take the one spot.

As for Warrington they still keep Dufty in their 21 but whether he’ll start is unclear but they name a very strong squad for the occasion.

Gil Dudson remains banned but otherwise they operate at near full strength.
