Hull KR vs Castleford Tigers: Kick-off time, TV channel and predicted line-ups

There was so much optimism surrounding Hull KR and Castleford going into 2022, but neither side has picked up a win so far this campaign to the surprise of many.

This has left extra pressure on this early fixture as both teams face the prospect of starting the year with three defeats which will leave them with ground to make up in terms of the play-off race.

But which side has the tools to claim that all important first win of the season at Craven Park?

Kick-off time and TV channel

The game kicks off at Craven Park at 8pm tonight.

The game will be shown live on Sky Sports Arena with coverage starting at 7:30pm.

Predicted Line-ups

Hull KR
Disappointingly for Hull KR fans, the Robins are without their huge signing Lachlan Coote but fortunately they can trust Will Dagger at fullback. Coote’s absence is of course a blow but they are boosted by Matty Storton’s return at loose-forward and, after being named in last week’s 21-man squad, Elliot Minchella could return after nearly a year on the side lines. Meanwhile, it’ll be interesting to see if Sam Wood remains on the wing with Ethan Ryan again in the squad,

19 Will Dagger
24 Sam Wood
3 Brad Takairangi
4 Shaun Kenny-Dowall
5 Ryan Hall
20 Mikey Lewis
7 Jordan Abdull
10 George King
14 Jez Litten
16 Korbin Sims
11 Dean Hadley
12 Kane Linnett
13 Matty Storton
Substitutes
9 Matt Parcell
17 Elliot Minchella
25 Greg Richards
27 Frankie Halton

Castleford Tigers
The Tigers have also been hit with a few major absentees with new recruits Jake Mamo and Kenny Edwards out through injury whilst suspension ensures George Lawler won’t feature against his former club. Alex Sutcliffe, despite picking up an injury last week, has been named in the 21-man squad and with limited second-row options Lee Radford will be hoping he’s good to go. Danny Richardson’s continued absence will see Jake Trueman and Gareth O’Brien continue in the halves whilst Jordan Turner will step into the centres following Mamo’s absence and Liam Watts may be asked to start following Lawler’s suspension. Cheyse Blair may also be needed to start in the backrow with Kenny Edwards out.

1 Niall Evalds
2 Derrell Olpherts
17 Mahe Fonua
3 Jordan Turner
5 Bureta Faraimo
6 Jake Trueman

8 Liam Watts
21 Alex Sutcliffe
24 Cheyse Blair
13 Joe Westerman
