Hull KR v Warrington Wolves line-ups predicted with Willie Peters set to make changes

Hull KR Mikey Lewis and Willie Peters

Hull KR and Warrington Wolves go head to head on Friday night for a place in the Super League Grand Final. Both KR and Warrington have enjoyed strong seasons up to this point, with respective second and third place finishes coming over the regular season.

That top two berth saw Rovers straight through to Friday’s semi-finals, while Warrington were forced to navigate their way through the eliminator round last weekend as they took on St Helens at the Halliwell Jones Stadium. It was an entertaining, enthralling and dramatic contest, but the Wolves just about go it done with a drop goal from George Williams in golden point proving to be the difference.

Sam Burgess has named an unchanged 21-man squad after that game and if everyone is fit, it’s fair to assume the head coach will be tempted to go with the exact same side, too. That means Stefan Ratchford could miss out once more despite being named in the side, with Tom Whitehead, Jordy Crowther and Aaron Lindop being left out, too.

It’s a Wire pack that largely picks itself and in truth there aren’t too many questions in the back line either, with Man of Steel contender Matt Dufty hoping to put on a show ahead of Tuesday’s Super League Awards night.

There will be changes to the Rovers line-up, though, with Willie Peters welcoming both Niall Evalds and Kelepi Tanginoa back from injury. Evalds missed KR’s last outing a fortnight ago through concussion, while Tanginoa had been struggling with a muscle injury.

Oliver Gildart sat out of the win over Leeds Rhinos last time out, too, with rib pain. All three players should be fit to play and in truth, they could all start. Evalds looks likely to get the nod over Jack Broadbent at full-back, while Gildart should replace Tom Opacic at centre.

With Elliot Minchella suspended, it seems likely that Dean Hadley will keep his spot through the middle, with Tanginoa potentially set to step into the back-row in place of the departing Matty Storton.

Predicted Hull KR line-up: Niall Evalds; Joe Burgess, Peta Hiku, Oliver Gildart, Ryan Hall; Mikey Lewis, Tyrone May; Sauaso Sue, Matt Parcell, Jai Whitbread; Kelepi Tanginoa, James Batchelor, Dean Hadley.

Bench: Jez Litten, Matty Storton, Sam Luckley, George King.

Predicted Warrington Wolves line-up: Matt Dufty; Josh Thewlis, Toby King, Rodrick Tai, Matty Ashton; George Williams, Josh Drinkwater; Luke Yates, Danny Walker, Zane Musgrove; Matty Nicholson, John Bateman, Ben Currie.

Bench: Sam Powell, Joe Philbin, James Harrison, Paul Vaughan.
