Hull KR v Wakefield: Squads Announced

Both Hull KR and Wakefield Trinity have announced their squads ahead of Friday’s season opener at Hull College Craven Park. Both are looking to put injury-hit pre-seasons behind them.

Hull KR

Tony Smith could hand debuts to Shaun Kenny-Dowell, Greg Minikin, Matty Gee, Elliot Minchella, Will Maher, Matthew Storton and Ryan Brierley. However, they are currently without Matt Parcell, Weller Hauraki, Harvey Livett and Dean Hadley.

They are also without Mose Masoe, who was forced to retire after picking up a spinal injury during Rovers’ 18-6 defeat at Wakefield.

Wakefield Trinity

Chris Chester also could hand out a few debuts as Joe Westerman, Jay Pitts and Romain Navarette could all make their first starts for Trinity. There is also a welcome return for Tom Johnstone after almost a year out with a knee injury. They are currently without Alex Walker, Ben Jones-Bishop, David Fifita and Tinirau Arona.

Should Bill Tupou play for Wakefield, it will be his 100th appearance for the Trinity since moving over back in 2016.
