Hull KR v St Helens squads confirmed as both head coaches forced into changes

Hull KR

Willie Peters and Paul Wellens have both made two changes to their respective Hull KR and St Helens squads for Friday night.

Rovers have the opportunity to all but wrap up the League Leaders’ Shield this week as they bid to bounce back from the loss their suffered last time out against Leeds Rhinos. They currently sit four points clear at the top but they can move six points clear for 24 hours at least, with just three more games to played after this week.

St Helens, on the other hand, have the opportunity to leapfrog Wigan Warriors, who play Catalans Dragons on Saturday, and move up into second place. It’s a huge match for both sides then, but the two head coaches have made enforced changes.

KR will be without Sauaso Sue this week after the prop picked up a knee injury last time out at Headingley. Fortunately, he’ll only miss around two to four weeks of action, but his absence is a blow for the east Hull outfit, particularly with Jared Waerea-Hargreaves serving the final game of his two-match suspension this week.

Jai Whitbread is rated as touch and go to be involved following the knock he picked up last week, but he’s been named in the line-up. As such, Rowan Milnes is the only other man to drop out of the fold.

Milnes has joined Salford Red Devils on loan for the remainder of the regular season and will be in action for them on Friday night. Harvey Horne and Cobie Wainhouse come into the squad.

St Helens have been dealt a double injury blow this week with both Owen Dagnall and Kyle Feldt being ruled out through injury. Feldt failed a HIA after Friday’s win over Hull FC and will sit out this week, while Dagnall has sustained a hamstring injury.

Leon Cowan and Jake Davies are the two selected to replace the wingers in the 21-man squad.
