Willie Peters has named a strong Hull KR side to take on Oldham at Craven Park on Friday night. The Robins are the only Super League side remaining with a 100 per cent record and they’ll be keen to keep that intact this week when they host Sean Long’s Championship side.
Niall Evalds returns to the fold after missing KR’s win over St Helens last Friday night after taking a head knock the previous week. Speaking on Tuesday afternoon, Peters confirmed that Evalds was seeing a specialist this week with the hope being that he would be passed fit to play and it remains to be seen if he will be given the green light to feature in the cup.
There’s no Dean Hadley, who picked up a head knock at the Totally Wicked Stadium, while Jared Waerea-Hargreaves and Micky McIlorum aren’t included either.
There could be some debuts for the Robins, though, with four off-season recruits included in the squad list. Bill Leyland, Eribe Doro, Leon Ruan and Lee Kershaw haven’t featured for the Red and Whites since joining the club there’s a chance that at least one could be involved.
Josh Drinkwater and Kieran Dixon look set to face up against their old side this week after being included in an Oldham side that looks to be as strong as possible. Sean Long’s side have had an indifferent start to the Championship season with one win and one draw coming inside the opening three games, but they’ll be using the club’s famous 2016 win over Rovers as motivation.
