Hull KR v Leeds: Predicted line-ups and late injury news

Despite only picking up one win each so far this season, there have been positive signs for both Hull KR and Leeds. The pair meet in a repeat of the 2015 Challenge Cup Final this evening. The Robins will be looking to build on last week’s dramatic one-point win over Huddersfield whilst Leeds are after their first win since the opening day as they welcome back some of their stars.

The bad news for Rovers is that impressive young half Mikey Lewis will be absent through suspension. Filling the void at stand-off will likely be off-season signing Brad Takairangi who could make his competitive debut for Hull KR following a long injury lay-off. Matty Storton could also return from injury after passing concussion protocols. However, on the other end of the spectrum is Korbin Sims who misses out through concussion himself. Leeds loanee Muizz Mustapha will likely take on his parent club whilst Rhinos legend Ryan Hall faces his hometown team for the first time. A try would see him become only the second player in history to score 200 in Super League.

The man who replaced him as Leeds’ number 5 returns for the cup holders in the major news for the Rhinos. Ash Handley – Super League’s top scorer last season – is back as is centre-partner Konrad Hurrell after a torn-calf. There are three more likely returnees. Richie Myler will come back into the side after three weeks on the side lines, Bodene Thompson should make his return having missed the defeats to Wigan and St Helens and finally King Vuniyayawa is set to make his Super League debut having overcome concussion.
