Hull KR v Huddersfield: Predicted line-ups and late injury news

Despite some encouraging signs neither Hull KR nor Huddersfield have recorded their first league win of the season. The Robins have lost all three of their opening fixtures. However, they’ve taken the opposition to golden point twice. The Giants meanwhile claimed their first win under new coach Ian Watson in the cup last time out and will be hoping to build on that tonight.

Rovers continue to be without dynamic back-rowers Brad Takairangi and Elliot Minchella. Will Maher, Joe Keyes and Matty Storton will also be absent through injury. There is a dilemma for Tony Smith on the wing following Ethan Ryan’s try-scoring appearance against Castleford last week. Meanwhile, Luis Johnson will most likely drop to the bench following his first appearance of the season.

The big news for Huddersfield is that Aidan Sezer should return following injury which would be a major boost for the Giants. That means Jack Cogger will likely miss out unless Watson elects to move Lee Gaskell to fullback. Meanwhile, Watson has an array of options at prop having left James Gavet out last week. It’s possible he could return to the fold this week. Backrow is more of a problem position with Joe Greenwood still suspended and joined on the side lines by Joe Wardle who still misses out through injury as does Ricky Leutele, Ash Golding and Olly Ashall-Bott.
