Hull KR trio to make debut as Wigan Warriors man returns from suspension in sole change

Wigan Warriors and Hull KR have named their sides for tonight’s Super League clash, with the Robins handing out three debuts.

Willie Peters was forced to heavily rotate his squad this week, with several players picking up injuries due to fatigue.

The trio of Jez Litten, Tom Davies and Peta Hiku were rested, whilst Mikey Lewis and Tevtia Pangai Jr are both suspended, the other absentees, according to Peters, all have “genuine injuries”.

As a result, only nine of last week’s 21-man squad remained, meaning there was a chance to see plenty of new faces in the Robins’ line-up.

Jack Broadbent will start the game at full-back, with French international Arthur Mourgue partnering Jack Charles in the halves. Harvey Horne and Lee Kershaw make up the wings, whilst last week’s try-scorer Louix Gorman partners Noah Booth in the centres.

Sauaso Sue and Sam Luckley form a strong starting front row, partnered with Bill Leyland at hooker. Rhyse Martin captain’s the side from back row, and is joined by debutant Frankie Dearlove on the edges. Karl Lawton locks the pack at 13.

The bench sees Tom Amone as the most experienced player, with Zach Fishwick making his first KR appearance since 2022. Declan Murphy and Alfie Woods will join the fray later in the game, and both will be making their KR debuts.

Wigan, who will remember Sir Billy Boston this evening after he died earlier this week, aged 92, make just one change to last week’s squad that beat Wakefield Trinity. Sam Walters returns from suspension, replacing Josh Cartwright on the subs bench.
