Hull KR target given significant ban for headbutt

Hull KR target Eribe Doro

Hull KR’s recruitment for 2025 is well underway, with the Robins announcing a number of big names will be joining the club next year. Yesterday, KR announced that Tom Davies would join the club from the Catalans Dragons. He will join NRL legend Jared Waerea-Hargreaves in joining KR for 2025.

Kr were also recently linked with a move for Bradford Bulls forward, Eribe Doro. The Bulls have made a solid start to the 2024 season in the Championship, and currently sit sixth in the table after 10 games.

Doro has played a huge role in their challenge for a spot in the end-of-season play-offs, leading to Bradford coach, Eamon O’Carroll describing him as the “best player in the Championship at the minute”.

After O’Carroll’s praise, it was reported that Doro was attracting interest from Hull KR, with the side from East Hull eager to bring him in for 2025. However, those plans may have suffered a blow, as Doro received a significant ban.

Doro was playing in Bradford’s game against Barrow Raiders, when he received a red card for a headbutt on Barrow player, Andrew Bulman. Despite the red card, the Bulls held on for a 36-24 home win which keeps them in contention in the Championship.

Doro received a three-game suspension for the headbutt and a £125 fine. As a result, he will miss Bradford’s upcoming fixtures against Whitehaven, Doncaster and Dewsbury. He will be available to return for Bradford’s crucial clash against former Super League side, Toulouse Olympique.

Doro started his career with the Warrington Wolves, making his debut for the club in 2020. After a loan spell with Widnes Vikings he moved to the Halifax Panthers before joining Bradford during the 2023 season in August. He has played 14 games in total for Bradford this year. He has scored nine tries in total in his career, including four in eight games during his spell with Halifax.
