Hull KR star scoffs at the suggestion he should feel sorry for Leeds player

Last night we saw just how good Jordan Abdull is.

He kicked Leeds Rhinos to death from start to finish in the rain as Luke Hooley had a tough night on his Leeds debut whilst Derrell Olpherts found it tough on the wing.

Abdull was awarded the Man of the Match award by Sky Sports and after the game Jenna Brooks asked if he felt sorry for Hooley and he scoffed at the suggestion:

“Not at all. He’s a fullback! It’s his job to catch kicks. I’m sure if it was dry he would have dealt with them a lot better,” he said.

“When the ball is like a bar of soap any kick is difficult to deal with. Ourselves struggled with some. I don’t feel sorry for him but I am sure he will be better when it dries up.”

He was also asked about the prospects of an England call up against France.

He said: “I have pretty much missed the last three games, my focus is playing consistently. I think I showed in the first three rounds I mean it this year.”

Abdull previously played for England in 2021 after he was nominated for the Man of Steel award, an award he is well in the running for the huge award in 2023.

He has nine points so far and looks set to pick up 12 in total.
