Hull KR have made their second signing of the day, after announcing that Ryan Brierley has joined the club from Toronto.

The 27-year-old has signed a one-year deal, following the earlier signing of Jamie Ellis from Castleford.

Brierley made his name at Leigh, after breaking onto the scene for the Centurions in 2012, before going on to rack up an impressive try tally of 133 tries in 125 games.

That earnt him a move to Super League with Huddersfield in 2016, before he joined the Wolfpack mid-way through 2017.

He has spent the past three seasons at the Wolfpack, making 35 appearances and scoring 25 tries, and recently returned to Leigh for a loan spell.

Head coach Tony Smith told the Rovers’ website: “Ryan has developed a lot more aspects to his game over the last few years.

“By his own self-admittance he was known as a terrific support runner and scoring plenty of tries, but he has worked hard to do more. We are happy to develop those skills further and he is coming to a place where he feels he can develop his career further.”
