Hull KR signing reveals the conversations he had with players which convinced him to make Super League switch

A lot has been made of the NRL stars Hull KR have signed for 2023 but some of their best business has been the English stars brought in from Super League rivals such as Sam Luckley and Louis Senior from Salford Red Devils and Huddersfield Giants respectively.

Another was of course James Batchelor who joins the club from Wakefield Trinity for 2023.

Speaking on Hull KR’s website, the forward opened up about settling into the squad and revealed the messages he exchanged with Hull KR players that helped confirm his move:

“It’s been really good, they’re a good bunch, I knew some of them before so it has been easy to fit in with them all.

“I spoke to a few of them when I was thinking about joining the club and they all spoke really highly of the club, I don’t think they knew fully what to expect from the new coach.”

Batchelor is now really excited to be a Robin and especially excited about the chance to enjoy the atmosphere at Craven Park:

“I’m really looking forward to it, I really like the noise and how they try and make it hostile for other teams. I played on Sunday and a Friday night, it is something else.

“I’m really looking forward to it especially the big games and the derbies.”
