Hull KR sign Championship star for undisclosed fee

Hull KR have secured the signing of Dewsbury forward Kyle Trout for the remainder of the 2019 season.

The 28-year-old joins the Robins for an undisclosed fee after impressing in the Championship this season.

Trout has previously played in Super League for Wakefield but failed to nail down a first-team spot at Belle Vue.

Since returning to the Rams from Sheffield in 2018, Trout has hit form and has played every game for the West Yorkshire outfit in 2019.

He links up with Rovers for the remaining five games of the season and will look to aid their fight for Super League survival.

“I’m really excited to get another crack at Super League. I’ve had a few years in the wilderness now so it’s great to be back,” Trout told hullkr.co.uk.

“I’ve worked with James Webster at Wakefield before and things didn’t work out for one reason or another but now I’m here and I get another chance here. The move happened so fast but luckily for me and my career it has.

“I have the opportunity now and it’s up to me to take it. I want to prove some things to myself as well as everybody else, that I am good enough for this level.

“I know Ben Crooks, I’ve played with Robbie Mulhern earlier in my career. I came through the amateur game with Danny Addy and Owen Harrison played on loan for Dewsbury for us earlier in the season. I’m looking forward to getting to work with my new team-mates now and I’m playing for a deal for next year.”
