Hull KR secure the signing of highly-rated fullback

Hull KR have signed fullback Phoenix Laulu-Togaga’e on a two-year deal.

The current Keighley livewire has been playing rugby alongside his father, Quentin at the Cougars with the duo striking up a remarkable partnership on the field.

Now, though, Phoenix will ply his trade in Super League from 2022 onwards – with the fullback being loaned back to Keighley for the remainder of the 2021 League 1 season.

Phoenix’s father, Quentin, scored an astounding 183 tries in 218 appearances for Sheffield Eagles and, after spells with Toronto Wolfpack, Halifax (twice), Castleford Tigers and Newcastle Thunder, made the move to Keighley Cougars in the off-season.

It now looks as though as teenager Phoenix will be able to show off his top-flight credentials a lot sooner than his father, who was over 30 when he finally got a shot in Super League with the Castleford Tigers.
