Hull KR should be commended for their recent transparency.
The club held a fantastic fan event where they opened up on a number of major topics.
One of those that came up of course was salary cap space which is a common topic of discussion amongst fans.
Speaking about the growth of the club in the last two years, CEO Paul Lakin revealed that the club is operating at the cap as he gave an analysis of the club at present: “I think it’s fair to say that the club isn’t what it was 2 years ago.
“We’re much bigger, in terms of the investments we have made into the club.
“For the 1st team for instance, we are operating at cap showing the standard.
“In terms of Academy, we have made investments in welfare and strength and conditioning. We have 8 new roles across the club, Craig as COO and bumping up the Commercial team.
“We now have 283 players across all playing levels. That is significantly higher than previous years.
“Perhaps the biggest investment alongside this is our decision to purchase the stadium and the surrounding area, which is a landmark moment for the club. We’re seeing these changes pay dividends in terms of how the team is getting on and the revenues around the club.”
The club have made a few notable signings such as James Batchelor from Wakefield Trinity and Sam Luckley from Salford Red Devils.
