Hull KR reveal radical new away shirt

Hull KR are heading into the 2022 campaign in good spirits. Under one of Super League’s greatest ever coaches in the shape of Tony Smith, the Robins have developed as a side during his tenure in charge culminating in one of Hull KR’s finest ever Super League campaigns last year.

The Robins secured sixth spot, their second highest Super League finish after their fourth place finish in 2009, and played some outstanding rugby that had neutrals across the country urging them to secure a place in the play-offs.

With exciting signings like Lachlan Coote coming through the door in 2022, many expect Hull KR to make another play-off push and it’s clear they’ll look good doing so based off the new away kit they released today.

The yellow and blue jersey is a departure from what we might expect from Hull KR but again speaks to Oxen’s recent creativity on the back of the Leeds and Castleford shirts they’ve designed for the 2022 Super League season.

The shirt itself is a vibrant yellow with some slightly darker yellow, one might call it amber, detailing on the right of the chest. Beneath this sits a splash of bright blue before the rest of the shirt returns to the bright yellow colour used at the top.

The shorts and socks are predominately blue with touches of yellow here and there culminating in a lovely ensemble.

The detailing which features on the shirt speaks to a number of landmarks from across the City of Hull and East Riding as the club celebrates 140 years connected with the city releasing the shirt with the hashtag #IconsofHull.

The shirt is of course quite bold and echoes the bold intent of the Robins next year as they look to go further than their semi-final appearance last season.
