Hull KR have moved to quash any reports or rumours that exiled NRL centre Taylan May has signed for the Robins for the 2025 season, with one particular article being labelled as “false news” by the club.
Taylan May is the younger brother of Hull KR half Tyrone and after his axing from Penrith Panthers, Taylan made his way to England whilst he is stood down from the NRL. Initial reports suggested that he had been training with the youth team, something that the Robins refuted.
From that initial report, assumptions and rumours emerged that Hull KR were in line to sign the 22-year-old with his attendance at the Robins’ Round 16 defeat to Catalans Dragons sparking huge fan interest.
Over a week on from that public appearance during which he donned his brother’s debut shirt, Taylan May is still being linked to Hull KR and one outlet have even reported that he has signed for the club for 2025.
That outlet and report has now been labelled “false news” by Hull KR with the club clarifying their stance once again.

Serious About Rugby League have since spoken with Hull KR who have unequivocally denied that as they confirmed that their stance regarding Taylan May has now changed from the one reported by Matt Shaw of Rugby League Live.
The club had “insisted” to Rugby League Live that “May has not had any involvement in any training activity with the club since his arrival in the UK and while he has been welcomed around the club, it has not been in an official capacity.”
Furthermore, Hull KR have outlined and made it clear that the report circulating on social media from an unknown outlet named 247sportscity was “all false” and instead the work of AI.
AI (Artificial Intelligence) has led to the spreading of such false news with AI-generated articles such as the one currently circulating and claiming that Taylan May has signed for Hull KR becoming more and more common.
For now, Taylan May is simply in England to reconnect with his brother whilst he is stood down by the NRL due to the fact he faces court next year for charges of domestic violence and stalking.
In regards Hull KR, they actually have confirmed a true signing with London Broncos hooker Bill Leyland announced last night as signing for the club from 2025.
The young hooker will add valuable depth behind Jez Litten with both Matt Parcell and Reiss Butterworth set to see their contracts run out and depart the club.
Leyland becomes Hull KR’s fourth signing after Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, Tom Davies and Eribe Doro.
