Hull KR have commented on Joe Burgess and his recent social media activity.
Burgess shared a repost of comments from Tommy Robinson last week, before coach Willie Peters subsequently said ‘when you work for an organisation, if you put something out, it goes out to a lot of people – so, any individual in the world needs to have some sort of responsibility, especially when you work for an organisation’.
KR spoke to Burgess about his repost, with the winger then reposting a post from Andrew Tate this week, something which was subsequently deleted.
As reported by Hull Live, Tate made the comments ‘when you have men who feel that they’re going to lose their land, they eventually become enraged’.
Tate added that it is in ‘every man’s DNA to fight for the land that he believes is his’, and ‘when men face losing their lands eventually there is going to be some form of violence as a resistance act’.
On Burgess’ social media activity, Peters added this week: “We have dealt with it internally, we have spoken to Joe. He knows where we stand with it.”
Peters concluded: “I understand. You can ask. I’ll keep our conversations between Joe and myself, and obviously Paul (Lakin), our CEO.”
