Hull KR release history inspire alternate jersey for 2023 Super League paying homage to one of the all time greatest teams

Hull KR have released another kit for the 2023 Super League season.

The Robin earlier this month revealed their 2023 home shirt which is a vibrant and sleek little number with a strong red base and white sleeves and collar creating a smart yet modern look for the Robins as they enter a new era under new boss Willie Peters.

Today saw the launch of their alternate shirt for 2023 which is inspired by a famous triumph which happened 40 years ago.

Similar to their rivals Hull FC who have remembered their Championship winning side of 1983 with a home shirt designed to echo the jersey that the Black and Whites lifted the trophy in, the Robins have also taken inspiration from 1983 when they stunned a touring Queensland side 8-6 in which Mike Smith proved to be the winner.

Their philosophy here is reminiscent of the philosophy used by Widnes a few years ago when they remembered their World Club Challenge battle with Canberra with an away shirt designed to echo the traditional look of the Raiders and Hull KR have done the same.

Their alternate shirt has a maroon base and golden detailing which adorns the look of the kit and makes it a brilliant tribute to Queensland, a shirt that the Maroons themselves would love to wear for sure.

The release of the shirt no doubt proceeds the release of an away shirt which will be worn when there’s set to be colour clashes, after all maroon doesn’t provide much difference from red.

So, like Hull FC, the Robins have released home and alternate shirts for 2023 and don’t be surprised to see the Robins wear this Queensland kit at the Magic Weekend.

Their opponents for that day were confirmed today as being Salford Red Devils.

More details about the Magic Weekend can be found here.
