Tyrone May has returned to Hull KR training as the Robins step up their preparations for the new Super League season. May was a key man under Willie Peters last season and his partnership with Mikey Lewis in the pivots ensured KR were able to boast one of the most potent attacking lines in the division.
With a child on the way, May was given extended leave over the off-season to allow him to return to Australia and be with his family. However, there was concern among supporters when rumours emerged online that he wouldn’t be returning to the club for 2025.
Reports that the club had asked about the availability of Salford Red Devils’ Marc Sneyd only added fuel to the fire in online forums, with the speculation being that 28-year-old could be set to leave Craven Park. However, Willie Peters rubbished such claims in an interview with the Yorkshire Post last month, with the head coach insisting May would be back in the New Year.
And, Rovers have now nipped the rumours in the bud by posting the pictures every Rovers fan wanted to see, May in pre-season training in east Hull. The half-back has travelled back to the United Kingdom following the birth of his child and he has now joined in with his KR teammates as Peters looks set to dial up the intensity.

Rovers will be in action for the first time in 2025 in just over three weeks’ time, when they take on York Knights in Amsterdam and their first competitive fixture will come just two weeks after that in the third round of the Challenge Cup.
As such, May doesn’t have too long to get up to speed alongside what is a relatively new look Rovers squad with nine new signings being made over the off-season.
Interestingly May is entering the final year of his contract with Hull KR and with Arthur Mourgue reportedly signed for 2026, he will be under pressure to perform this time around.
