Hull KR man Mikey Lewis has reacted after his match-winning drop goal with the Man of Steel unhappy with his own performance.
The Robins beat Castleford Tigers 19-18 in golden point with Lewis slotting over the one-pointer to secure the win for Hull KR on what was a very frustrating night for all those in red and white at Craven Park.
Despite taking the lead through Joe Burgess, Rovers found themselves behind at half-time thanks to Josh Simm and Fletcher Rooney tries with Castleford looking the better of the two sides at the halfway point.
Hull KR applied huge pressure for the first 20 minutes of the second half but it wasn’t until the 65th minute that Castleford gave out with Joe Burgess crossing for two more quickfire tries to complete his hattrick.
From there, you would have expected Castleford to fold but they backed themselves with a short kick-off which they reclaimed before Peta Hiku was outleaped by Zac Cini to tie it up at 18-18.
A missed drop goal from Rhyse Martin, who went just one of four from the tee on his home debut, and a Tex Hoy missed penalty came before the hooter but it was Lewis who kicked the game-winner in golden point.

Speaking on Sky Sports afterwards, the reigning Man of Steel cut a very frustrated figure and was very critical of his own performance.
“I didn’t play well personally. A lot of things didn’t go well for me but a win is a win,” he explained.
“We’ll work on this game and look at where we need to improve, we’ve got a quick turnaround for Thursday so it’s another massive week for us.
“We’ll keep working hard, it’s the first week of the year so you’ve got to blow the cobwebs off.”
Hull KR play on Thursday night against Castleford’s rivals Wakefield, but Lewis was eager to praise Castleford who many had written off based on their Challenge Cup defeat to Bradford Bulls.
Lewis argued: “This Cas team, you can look at the result on Sunday and think that they’re going to fall over but they really turned up tonight and put us in a game.
“We didn’t play our best in that first half but we dug deep and that’s what we’ve built on in this pre-season and it feels good to get the win now.”
Lewis was also asked about his visible frustration when Rhyse Martin missed a drop goal in normal time, something that he skirted around whilst revealing that Willie Peters called on Martin to take the shot.
“Good question, the coach wanted to do it,” he revealed.
“Willie wanted him (Rhyse Martin) to stand up and I’ll back what Willie brings. It was just one of them. Obviously, we’ll talk about it.”

Not sure you could say Peta Hiku was outjumped for their third try. He barely left the ground. Not picking him out because there were other players who were more culpable in this lacklustre performance. Just that you mentioned it in the write up.
