Hull KR head coach Willie Peters is having a dream start to the 2025 Super League season.
Rovers sit in second place in the table, just underneath this week’s opponents St Helens on points difference.
Peters highlighted the recent performances of Jez Litten, who he feels is in the prime of his career right now.
Speaking in his press conference, he said: “I think there’s still more in Jez, there’s no doubt about that.
“It’s only early rounds but I’m certainly seeing Jez Litten, the player I know he can be.
“The key now is that he just keeps evolving his game and developing over the course of the season.
“It’s just consistency because you just look at Jez’s game, he is a complete hooker, he can do everything, I think he’s in the prime of his career now.
The Hull KR head coach also said that he’s stepped up as a senior player this season.
He said: “He’s in our leadership group so I’ve seen a lot of growth in him. I’m certainly really happy with how he’s started the season.
The bad news for Hull KR fans is that new recruit Rhyse Martin is set to miss a good chunk of the season with a serious hip/quad injury.
Peters said: “Rhyse will be out for four months, he needs to have an operation on his quad. It’s in the tendon, it’s a tear which requires surgery.
“He told me after the game that he felt a pop. It’s never a good sign if you feel that.
“Obviously he went for scans, he’s seen the specialist and he’s got an operation on Saturday so not good news for Rhyse because he was fitting into the squad well.
“He’s obviously a key player for us but we know in four months’ time, we’ll be getting a guy who’s ready to go again.”
The Hull KR head coach also addressed Elliot Minchella and Joe Burgess’ knocks but insisted they’re good to go for Friday night, having trained throughout the week.
