Hull KR Grand Final squad named as Willie Peters makes one change to face Wigan Warriors

Hull KR head coach Willie Peters has made one change to his squad for this weekend’s Super League Grand Final against Wigan Warriors.

The Robins meet Wigan for the second year running at Old Trafford and after losing 9-2 in 2024, they’ll be eager to dish out some revenge at the showpiece event.

Rovers have won the Challenge Cup final and the League Leaders’ Shield this season and they’ll complete what would be a historic treble should the club pick up the win on Saturday.

The east Hull outfit had the news on Tuesday night that Jared Waerea-Hargreaves would be eligible to play after seeing the ban he received following last week’s semi-final overturned. The veteran has been named in the squad of course, and he’s joined in the fold by Micky McIlorum, who is still pushing to make one last appearance in his career.

McIlorum is due to retire at the end of the season and Peters is keen to give him minutes at Old Trafford. In order to feature, though, McIlorum needs to prove his fitness after fracturing his ankle back in August.

He hasn’t played since and wasn’t deemed to be ready to play against St Helens last weekend, despite being named in the 21-man squad.

The only change to the squad comes on the peripheries as Noah Booth comes in and Eribe Doro drops out. Of course, the youngster isn’t expected to play in the Grand Final, but he’ll be with the group and should injury strike, he’ll be putting his hand up to play.

Arthur Mourgue is included, too, and Peters confirmed earlier this week that he is expected to be fit after taking a knock in the closing stages of the contest last Saturday.
