Hull KR give damning verdict on Mikey Lewis injury

Hull KR have revealed the extent of Mikey Lewis’ injury after the halfback was forced off in Rovers’ win over Castleford Tigers last week.

Mikey Lewis will be unavailable for 6-8 weeks after the seminal halfback ruptured ligaments in his ankle early in the second half of the Robins’ 34-10 quarter-final win over Castleford. Lewis will require surgery on the injury and be in a protective boot for the beginning of his rehab.

Both Jordan Abdull and Greg Richards both passed HIA’s in last Friday’s win and are available for selection during the busy, Easter Weekend.

For returnees, Will Dagger overcame his minor knee injury and featured for the club’s Reserves last Friday night against Leeds. Albert Vete and Dean Hadley will look to push for next weekend’s game against  Wakefield as they recover from respective calf injuries.

Tom Garratt has rejoined training early this week. The towering prop has completed his mandatory 11 days stand-down period for players with concussion symptoms and will push for selection this Friday.

Luis Johnson is closing in on his return and will rejoin team training in the coming weeks.
