Both Hull KR and Hull FC have confirmed the ticket allocation for their upcoming Challenge Cup quarter-final match with the actions of a “small minority” in 2023 continuing to impact fans.
The Robins will travel across the city to face FC in the Challenge Cup quarter-finals on Saturday, April 5th, however, they will only be able to take 3,708 fans after a decision was made not to increase the club’s allocation.
Challenge Cup games work differently to Super League games in that a larger allocation of tickets can be granted, up to 30%, meaning that Hull KR could have taken almost 7,500 to the MKM Stadium early next month.
However, it has now been confirmed by both clubs that there will be no increase to the allocation following talks with a number of parties including the RFL, Stadium Management Company (SMC) and Hull City Council Safety Advisory Group (SAG).
Given that the clash was the first times the two sides have met in the Challenge Cup since 1986, it had been hoped that a larger allocation could be granted but that solution has not been found.
Hull KR dealt Hull FC allocation blow as actions of ‘small minority’ impact Challenge Cup clash
Hull KR have received final confirmation of the club’s allocation for the upcoming Betfred Challenge Cup Quarter-Final tie against Hull FC at MKM Stadium.
A decision has been made not to extend the club’s allocation beyond our usual 3,708 tickets (15%).

The decision was confirmed by both clubs but Hull KR explained the decision and attributed the lack of increased allocation to the action of the “small minority” at the 2023 derby, at which there was trouble between the sets of supporters.
Sharing the news, Hull KR posted: “Since the draw was made on Monday evening, the club have worked extensively with the Stadium Management Company (SMC), Hull City Council Safety Advisory Group (SAG) and the RFL to explore increasing our allocation to the full 30% of capacity metric permitted for the Challenge Cup.
“Unfortunately, with the configuration of the MKM Stadium, and in the interests of supporter safety, a decision has been made not to extend the club’s allocation beyond our usual 3,708 tickets (15%).
“Naturally the club are very disappointed by this, and understand thousands of supporters will now miss out on the opportunity to see the biggest Hull Derby in recent memory live at the stadium. However, we understand and respect the decision with supporter safety the number one priority for all.
“The behaviour of a small minority of supporters from both sides at the 2023 Hull Derby has influenced this decision. Therefore, the club wishes to reiterate its zero-tolerance stance on anti-social behaviour, with immediate season, or lifetime bans issued to any Robins supporters found to behave in a way which falls below our expectations.”
The strong stance on fan behaviour from the Robins should be applauded but it doesn’t make the news any better for those fans who will miss out on attending the game. A saving grace for those would be that the game will be televised on BBC One.
Full ticket details will be confirmed soon.
