Hull KR confirm exciting signing ahead of 2022

Hull KR appear to be on the up. After 12 years outside the competition’s top four, the Robins look like genuine play-off contenders again. In the coming years they could find themselves back inside the upper echelons of the table if they continue their progression.

The Rovers are widely rumoured to sign St Helens fullback Lachlan Coote in a move that could slingshot them to the top.

That’s still up for debate and unconfirmed but what is now confirmed is the arrival of Frankie Halton from Featherstone Rovers. The versatile young forward can operate in both the front and back rows and has impressed for Featherstone this year as they push for promotion.

The Irish international this week signed a two year deal to join the Rovers at the height of an exciting period with many believing they’re a club on the up.

Their Head Coach Tony Smith believes that Halton can be apart of the Robins’ journey to the top by adding extra bite to their already impressive pack. Speaking with the Rovers’ website he said: “He caught the eye with his ability to break the line and tackles. He’s really strong carrying the ball with a good eye for the inside shoulders that get him through holes.

“There’s plenty of size about him as well as good speed for a back-rower, who can also play in other positions. He’s very versatile.

“I think that he will strengthen us and himself as he goes on. There’s a lot of attributes to like about Frankie.”
