Hull KR confirm another signing as their recruitment drive for 2023 hits top gear

Hull KR have been busy in recent weeks announcing a number of high profile signings from the NRL.

Today they have continued their signings spree but this time with a Super League rival after a week in which interim coach Danny McGuire confirmed that there were more signings to be announced and the Robins have delivered with James Batchelor’s move to Hull KR now confirmed.

It was one of the first kept secrets in the league at this stage and will see the second-rower join Hull KR from next year after some inspired performances for Wakefield at the end of this season.

It has ended with a bit of blow however With Batchelor leaving Belle Vue on crutches last week after Wakefield’s huge win over Wigan which will mark his last game for Trinity.

Batchelor has signed a two-year deal with Hull KR from 2023 meaning he will be at Craven Park next year and in 2024 and the Robins will be hoping he continues his fine form with 28 tackle busts to his name in 2022 and over 1500 metres.

Brother to Joe Batchelor at St Helens who is a Super League Champion, James will be hoping this move will allow him to try and emulate his brother.

His immediate priority will be to shake off his hamstring problem but he’ll certainly be ready for the start of 2023 and working under Hull KR’s new boss Willie Peters.
