Hull KR confirm 11 departures including former NRL trio and star winger

It’s been clear for some time that Hull KR are set for plenty of change over in 2023 after plenty of NRL signings as well as Super League recruits like Yusuf Aydin which was announced earlier this week.

But this of course means plenty of their current players will have to move and the Robins have announced that 11 players will be leaving at the end of the season.

These include Tom Garratt whose departure had already been confirmed with the mutual termination of his contract due to a persisting concussion which has sadly sullied his crack at Super League.

Meanwhile, overseas stars Korbin Sims, Albert Vete and Brad Takairangi all move on. The trio played a key role in Hull KR’s Super League semi-final appearance last season but have been bit part players this season largely due to injury.

Confirmation of Vete’s move to Castleford is expected soon.

Meanwhile long standing Hull KR star Ben Crooks leaves after four seasons. The Robins have a lot of quality already in his position with Ryan Hall, Ethan Ryan and Sam Wood all at the club whilst youngsters Will Tate and Phoenix Laulu-Togaga’e can fill in on the wing. Huddersfield star Louis Senior is also headed to Hull KR next year after some inspired performances recently.

Meanwhile, another first teamer in Will Maher will join Crooks in heading through the exit door as will Charlie Cavanaugh after a solitary Super League appearance joined by four more youngsters in the shape of Adam Rusling, Nathan Cullen, Bailey Dawson and Tom Wilkinson.

Here’s the list in full: Tom Garratt, Korbin Sims, Albert Vete, Brad Takairangi, Ben Crooks, Will Maher, Charlie Cavanaugh, Adam Rusling, Nathan Cullen, Bailey Dawson and Tom Wilkinson.
