Hull KR are reportedly ‘closing in’ on a Super League starting winger, who has been widely praised for recent performances.
That’s according to Hull Live, who say the Robins are close to signing London Broncos man Lee Kershaw.
Kershaw was signed for the Broncos after departing Wakefield Trinity last season, and has scored six tries for Super League’s bottom club.
He was named in the Super League Team of the Week after impressing against Leeds Rhinos recently, where his side were only defeated after further golden point extra-time heartbreak.
It’s also reported that they will be beating a number of fellow Super League sides to his signature, with some excellent performances across the season meaning he has a number of potential suitors.
KR would be the 25-year-old’s third Super League side, while he has also been with Oldham on three separate loan deals.
Incredibly fast, Willie Peters’ side would be signing a player with plenty of potential to turn defence to attack in a matter of seconds.
Lee Kershaw to Hull KR: SARL’s verdict
This looks to be a smart signing for KR – they are losing one of Super League’s all-time greatest try-scorers in Ryan Hall for 2025, but have already recruited Tom Davies from Catalans Dragons – reportedly beating St Helens to his signature – and this would be another good signing for the wing positions.
It’s not just on the wing where he could prove useful, however. Tom Opacic is departing the club at the end of the season, while Corey Hall, currently on a season-long loan with Castleford Tigers, is heading to Wakefield Trinity.
Therefore, he could also prove useful in the centres alongside the likes of Oliver Gildart and Jack Broadbent, as well as another of his positions at full-back, when Broadbent or Niall Evalds are unavailable or needed elsewhere.
