Hull KR boss Willie Peters admits to losing his cool after some ‘blatant’ over the top incidents towards the end of the Hull derby. The Robins won the game 18-4 with tries from Noah Booth, Jez Litten, Jack Broadbent and Tom Davies all getting over to take the spoils.
However, it’s fair to say the game was an ill-tempered affair though with three yellow cards being dished out. Yusuf Aydin saw the first after a hip drop tackle on Arthur Mourgue before Elliot Minchella was sent for 10 for a high shot on Lewis Martin.
Jordan Rapana got the last one for a late shot in the dying moments of the game. Referee Liam Moore missed what was a pretty clear elbow from Jack Ashworth on Mikey Lewis, though, and that left Peters incensed after the final whistle.

“I did for the majority of the game for sure,” Peters said when asked whether he felt his side had kept their cool. “We could have been really reactive to some of the things that went on but I’m sure that will get looked at.
“It needed to be spotted from the officials because some of it was just blatant. It needed to be looked at there and then. It will get looked at now but there were things that didn’t get pulled up on in the game.
“I was annoyed with it. I’m not going to lie there, I probably lost my calm and composure more than what Mikey did which is great because I was talking to the players around not getting caught up in anything.
“When it’s like that, what we’re best doing is stopping the game so they look at it and whether that’s grabbing a player, just making the referee aware that something went on there that shouldn’t have gone on. It was blatant.
“I’m all for physical intent, there’s going to be niggle, all that kind of stuff, I get that. But you have a look at how many rucks there was with Mikey and the attention he was getting. I get it, no ruck is clean, you might get a facial here and there but some of the things were over the top and blatant, especially that last one.”
After the final whistle, Peters could be seen involved in an argument with Hull FC assistant Andy Last following Ashworth’s elbow.
Asked what was said, Peters added: “I’ll leave that to us. I will say that some of the actions on the field were blatant.”
Peters was also asked for his opinion on Minchella’s sin-binning: “I need to have a look at it. Him getting 10 we needed to have a plan around what we were going to do, that was the main concern so I need to have a look at it.”
